Publishing companies trying to stop the guild from the filing of the brief, but this week, district judge in California allowed submissions. According to The New York Times, Judge Barry Moskowitz accepted States T.

Willis is not the first author who asked earlier: control of his works are seeking ownership of the music of the past, too. However, the fact that Willis was employed by the publishing company at time of writing distinguishes the case from those of independent artists, and very likely will set the standard for all songwriters hired to come.
